Tannus Armour is a Semi-mousse designed to be placed between the inner tube and the tire . The insert protects against punctures from sharp objects, pinch flats from rim damage (snake bites), and sidewall cuts.
The Tannus Armour provides nearly 360° protection from bead to bead , creating an internal protective structure for the tire. This allows driving at much lower pressures without the tire deforming, becoming sluggish, or difficult to control.
It absorbs a significant amount of ground vibrations (for example, areas of loose gravel) and dissipates the energy evenly throughout the chamber. The result is a much smoother, quieter, and more comfortable ride.
It is the first “semi-mousse”, UNIQUE on the market. Developed with the globally patented Aither compound, it has a base of 1,000,000,000 (one billion) micro “bubbles” of sealed air and olefin polymer; representing a major innovation for the cycling world.

¿Qué cámara de aire debo escoger para mi Tannus Armour?
Tannus Armour occupies some space within the cover initially reserved for the inner tube, which is why you should use a narrower inner tube size than you would normally use.
The size of the air chamber depends on the tire size we use.
In the air chamber range that we indicate for each size, it is important that it is never greater than the maximum range marked.
The recommended inner tube size is always indicated on the packaging and website.
It is important to respect this aspect to guarantee effectiveness against punctures.

Is it compatible with ultralight TPU inner tubes (e.g. Eclipse/Tubolito) and tubes with Slime sealant?
Tannus Armour is compatible with TPU (thermoelastomer) (polyurethane) inner tubes. This type of inner tube helps optimize the overall weight of the wheel assembly.
Ultralight inner tubes are expensive compared to traditional butyl tubes, but thanks to the price of Tannus Armour, the combination of the two is in the price range of a tubeless liner. Not bad, right?
We offer an ultralight TPU air chamber (ECLIPSE) compatible with every Tannus Armour. Simply select the size of the Tannus Armour you wish to purchase from the drop-down menu.
Tannus Armour can also be used with inner tubes containing sealant (slime), although it's not necessary. However, if you want to add extra protection, that's fine too.

What is the active ingredient in Tannus Armour?
Tannus Armour is made from a patented material called Aither. It's a high-quality, foam-like polymer that offers vibration damping, a smoother ride, and puncture resistance.

¿Qué presión se debe utilizar cuando usas Tannus Armour?
It definitely depends on personal preferences and also on the cycling discipline you practice.
However, the golden rule for MTB:
- For previous Tubeless users, try a pressure 5-6 PSI (0.37 BAR) lower than what you would normally be riding at.
- For air chamber users, try about 10 PSI (0.68 BAR) less.
- For those who have no idea what pressures to use, inflate to a high pressure of about 25 PSI (1.7 BAR) and gradually reduce the pressure until you feel that the pressure is not too low for riding.
- For Gravel and Road bikes, again, it depends on each person's personal preferences, but what we recommend is to start at about ⅔ of the pressure you normally use.
¿Cuándo se debe recortar el Tannus Armour? ¿Afecta al rendimiento?
Tannus Armour should be trimmed according to the size of the tire being used.
If it is not trimmed when indicated or is trimmed when it should not be, it will not be installed properly and therefore will affect performance.
Not all Tannus Armour garments have the cut line, as some sizes do not require trimming.
The instructions are always indicated on the packaging, assembly guide and website.
Always make the cut with scissors.
Are tools needed for assembly?
Tannus Armour is easy to install; these are the only tools required, and they are not always necessary:
- Scissors ( To cut the armor, according to the size of cover used)
- Levers ( To facilitate tire beading )
- Talcum powder ( To facilitate tire seating )
What tips do you recommend for assembly?
Tannus Armour is easy to assemble, however the following tips can make assembly even easier:
Before assembly, you must check that you are using the correct air chamber and following the cutting instructions.
- Thoroughly clean any remaining sealant and foreign objects from inside your tire
- First, place one side of the cover over one side of the rim.
- Use a little talcum powder to make it easier to seat the Tannus Armour on the rim.
- An additional precaution is to ensure that the Armour does not pinch the camera when it is fitted.
- Lightly inflate the inner tube and begin placing it on the tire through the valve.
- Insert the other wing of the Tannus Armour inside the tire; this will facilitate bead seating.
- Finally, seat the other side of the tire on the rim and proceed to the final steps:
Deflate the inner tube and adjust the armor.

Inflate to a high pressure for adjustment
